On this page we present photographs that were taken by others,
either investigators in their own right or just average people, and submitted to us by
outside sources. We share them with you because of the unusual nature of the images and
their stories, and invite you to make your own judgments on what they might show.
HAUNTED PICKUP TRUCK?
This photograph is making the rounds right now and is a classic example of an ordinary image capturing something mysterious. The photographer, Roy,
is a trained policeman and a professional used to careful observation in his daily work. He writes: "I work in law enforcement for a living,
but I am an amateur photographer for a hobby. I was taking a picture of an old truck off of Honey Run Road in Chico, California. I swear that
I saw nobody inside of this truck when I took this picture. I even walked right up to it. Later when I downloaded the picture onto my computer,
I looked closer at what I thought was part of the rear window and it is clearly a face. It appears to be looking right at me when I took this.
I am thoroughly creeped out."
GHOSTLY FACE IN SYDNEY
This Photo was taken at Rookwood Necropolis Cemetery in Lidcome, Australia. Sydney's oldest and largest cemetery.
The photo contains a weird growth of fungus on a gravestone which resembles a skeletal face. It was taken using a Kodak disposable camera.
Sometimes it’s easy to see faces in various shapes and shadows, a process called matrixing but sometimes something like things stands
out as plain to see, and taken in context of occurring in a cemetery can be quite chilling. (Submitted by Sydney Ghost Hunters of Australia).
MYSTERIOUS FACE ON DOOR
The photographer who took this image writes "This photo was taken at my grandmother's house in 2005 in Williamsburg VA. I was setting up her new computer and had taken a test pic with the quickcam that came with it. I saved the file in an attempt to show my grandmother how to use the computer. I really didn't see what was in the picture until later when I was installing some new software. The evening that this picture was taken, my grandmother’s neighbor passed away from natural causes." Spirits who have just died and shown up at a friend’s or loved one’s who is unaware of their passing is a common occurrence down through history.
EERIE GIRL IN CEMETERY
The photographer, James, writes, "I had just received a digital camera for my birthday from my aunt and since then my wife and I go to a cemetery to take pictures from the dirt road every so often (mainly because I'm too chicken to go inside in the dark). The cemetery is only about a 1/2 mile from my house and it also has a crematorium. The cemetery was established in 1874 so it has some very old graves. I've gotten 2 pictures of small orbs before but nothing like this. To me it looks like the little girl is in a hurry going someplace. The only thing is, I went back during the day to take a look and the little girl would have to have been only a foot and a half tall. “Smaller sized apparitions, usually 3 feet or under, are commonly seen when a full manifestation would usually take more energy than is available to the spirit to use.
GHOST IN THE WOODS?
This photo was taken on 10/10/2006. We were doing
some field work for an engineering study (at
Uvalde Rd at US 90 in northeast Houston, Texas).
A storm had just begun shortly after noon and
rain was beginning to pour when we had to
abandon our field study. Back at the office
while reviewing the photographs taken in the
field, we heard a scream come from our
co-worker's office as she came across this photo
featuring a ghostly hooded apparition.
She and the rest of us who were present in the
field at the time the photo was taken do not
recall seeing anybody or anything in the trees
that day. We felt this photograph deserved attention.

PHANTOM IN THE HALLWAY
I enclose two photos you might be interested in. One is a close-up and the other is the original. This picture of an apparition was taken on Aug. 6, 2005 at the Bard Mansion on the Port Huneme Naval base in Ventura, Ca. I was there attending my Dad's Air Force retirement party. We were told that the upstairs was haunted. I took some pictures upstairs and this is what appeared. I took this picture with an Olympus 4.0 Mega pixel digital Camera. I had just bought the camera a few months prior to this. I am not a ghost hunter but have always had an interest in the paranormal. Never thought in a million years I would come in contact with anything like this.
I didn't even notice this picture until a month after taking it. I looked at all the pictures of the party downstairs but never really looked at the photos I took upstairs until I was showing a friend the pictures of the party on a slide show on my laptop. He's actually the one who noticed it first. When this picture popped up he said OMG what is that? I suddenly got chills and started shaking and yelled for my Mom to come see this picture. She said the way my voice sounded she thought something serious had happened like someone had died of something. I could not believe what I was seeing! I took about 10 pictures upstairs and this is the only one that has the most in it. The pictures I took downstairs has orbs in most of them but I figure it could be dust floating around. I also took a picture of the outside of the Mansion as we were leaving ataround 11 p.m, and in the lower right window there appears to be a face apparition. But I'm not sure if it is anything.
When I took this picture I did not see or feel anything out of the ordinary. If you notice too in the original photo there is an orb next to the dresser in the middle lower right of the photograph. The bright light you see in the middle of the Apparition is the flash going off reflecting off the window behind the image. What I believe happened was when the flash went off it went through the apparition then bounced off the window causing the apparition to appear
so clear.
You can even make out some facial features! (CSI note: a period photograph of a woman in Victorian dress is included for comparison. The similarities in shape and form are pretty close).
I sent the image to Steven Parke, a professional graphic artist,
http://www.imagecarnival.com/parke/. His opinion was that there was no
evidence of fakery. "It looks legit from a pixel standpoint," was his
exact quote. “It does not appear faked in any way. My
concerns with the picture are that it was taken into a reflective
surface and there is also a second reflective surface to the left (a
section of glass in the grandfather clock), and in both you can clearly
see the reflection of the camera's flash. Either or both of these could
be the cause of the foggy shape, potentially. That said, I can't see
easily how it did. Or rather, in this image, while I say that could be
cause of the form, I'm more inclined to say it isn't. I'm not throwing
down with the paranormal entirely on this, but it is one of the best
candidates I've seen in a long time. The pixel distortion is pretty homogenous.
It doesn't look to have a higher (or lower) res in the area right around the figure,
which to me would suggest that it hasn't been tampered with."

GHOSTLY ROBED FIGURE
On Sunday, April 9th, 2006, just before dark, The Central Illinois Ghost Investigators went to Old Salem Cemetery near Lacon, Illinois for another investigation.
Just a little less than a year ago we captured a photo that appeared to be a man in a long robe. Well, he's back! Our member Keith captured what I believe to be the same entity again.
The first photo shows the newest capture, and the next 2 show the one from last May for comparison.

DEVIL'S DEN GHOST
This picture was taken at the Devil's Den in Gettysburg on 4-3-05. There were not any re-enactors there at that time. I made for certain that during my trip, I did not take any pictures of anyone dressed in Civil War era clothing because I was there on a ghost hunting trip. The first photo is the full size picture, the second is a close-up of the soldier.

SILVER CITY APPARITION
This is the Idaho Standard School in Silver City, Idaho (now a ghost town).
The picture was taken at night with a digital camera with flash on September 30, 2006.
Just below the "1892" on the balcony area, there appears to be a figure of a person.
The outline is transparent and clearly something near the balcony, not
a defect right in front of the camera lens. Everyone that has seen it (I have it on my desktop at work) says they are convinced it's a ghost.

GHOST CAT?
Rhett was a great kitty (and a twin of Yeti). A few years after he crossed over due to old age, this picture was taken in the yard near the hummingbird
feeder he LOVED to watch from a nearby window. But being an indoor cat, he was never allowed outside. This blurry cat image - Rhett - somehow 'ghostly' appeared in the photo. I have several other pictures taken of the birds and plants around this same spot taken within a few minutes of each other and nothing at all was in any of the other pictures except Rhett. This is proof to us that our little ones can visit where they loved being in life. We feel he is now happily sitting under where the birds always fly and eat... what comfort to us that he is a happy ghost cat who is now where he always wanted to be! - Denise N.
GETTYSBURG GHOST
This photo was taken in the National Cemetery in downtown Gettysburg, on a visit there in July 2005. When the film was developed I was startled to see a bluish mist in this one photo, and even more amazed when people started pointing out it looked just like a rearing horse in the photo! I'm not sure if you can make out a figure or not, or if the horse is riderless, as I'm sure there were many that way during the battle after their owners were killed. This is the first ghost photo I'd ever taken, and I wasn't even trying! You can be we're going back to Gettysburg the first chance we get! - John B.
CEMTERY SHADOW PERSON?
We were at Phelps cemetery (Silver Creek, Indiana) performing a paranormal investigation during the spring of 2006.
We were using a Sony Handicam recorder with a night shot setting. We were also using a digital
audio recorder to see if we could pick up any EVPs in the area. The photo that you see was a still
frame made from the video that we shot. No one was standing in front of the camera, or a light
source that would have created the shadow. The shadow was not visible to anyone except the subject
looking through the view finder of the camera. It is unknown what created the shadow.
Only two people were present during the investigation. Attempts to recreate the shadow on a
following investigation were unsuccessful. - Paranormal Indiana Ghost Society. (Editor's note: If the shadow had been cast by a
person present, it would have fallen across the headstone and the ground in front of it, not just
behind. Also, a normal shadow would have fallen lengthwise across the ground, then at a different
angle up the side of the tree, assuming it reached that far back. It clearly is standing upright
and is not influenced by any type of surface behind it, on which it might fall if it were a normal shadow. You can even
see where the shadow of the stone begins, falling across the ground, and the shadow of the "form" rises up from it.)
FIGURE ON THE HILL
On 3/12/06, I was photographing an old house, long since abandoned, deep in a back
hollow of West Virginia. After printing the image I notice a figure, ghost-like on the
hill above the center of the house.
Note the odd stance, almost as if the feet aren’t planted firmly on the ground
as you would expect from a physical person. Could it be a previous owner,
still looking after his property even after death?

WAVERLY HILLS SANITARIUM LIGHT
This was a picture that was taken while we were on tour in Oct. 2005 of the scariest place in Louisville,
Kentucky called the Waverly Hills Sanitarium. It looks like a person looking out the window! This place was a
tuberculosis hospital. The massive collegiate gothic style sanatorium still stands at Waverly Hills today.
This place is where a lot of strange things go on such as ghosts, shadow people, unexplained lights, voices, and paranormal activity on a regular basis. In the dark, human shadow forms can be seen going in and out of rooms -
you do see that when you're on tour too! In this instance, we were in a darkened hall with no lights (or even electricity) other than our camera flashes. There was nothing reflective nearby that could have caused the light, only brickwork and plaster, and no lights or other sources near us that could have accounted for the mysterious blur. In short, it's unexplained.

DEVIL'S DEN / GETTYSBURG GHOSTS
These three pictures were taken on a vacation trip to Gettysburg in the summer of 2006. The first two were taken in the parking area
just in front of Devil's Den. The rocks and boulders would be to the right in the picture. At first we were just excited thinking we had captured
a mist of some kind on film near the edge of the photo, but it wasn't until later that someone pointed out you can make the figure of a rider on
horseback (facing right, towards Devil's Den) forming out of the wisps - you can plainly make out the full form of a body and even the horse's
head, flanks, and legs. Creepy! The third photograph was taken at the legendary Fansworth House, said to be one of the most haunted buildings in the
town of Gettysburg itself. It is either a glowing orb captured in flight, or an example of "ribbon energy", but clearly not the typical "dust" orb
or insect most people mistake them for. We could come up for no rational explanations for either of these pictures. -- F. Johnson
DEATHBED APPARITION
In January of 2007, we were sent these photographs from an employee at the Historic Worley B&B Inn
(built c. 1845) in Dahlonega, Georgia. According to the Inn’s Marketing Consultant, a professional
photographer was hired to take pictures of the building in 1999 for possible use in advertising brochures, etc.
Afterward, the photos were stored away for four years and nothing further was done with them.
In 2003, while perusing the images for their website, they saw a bedroom picture with a blur,
and assumed it was simply a photographic flaw. But then the manager noticed a ghostly figure lying on
the bed within the haze. Here you can see the original uncropped photo, as well as a close up of the figure
on the bed. The Inn believes this is the ghost of Claude Worley, a teenager who records show died
in the house in the late 1800s after being hit by a nearby train. A photo of Claude, which is on display at the
inn, is also shown for comparison. The management at the Worley Inn attests to the authenticity of these
photos and the circumstances surrounding them, which lends added credibility to their background. This is probably
one of the most extraordinary and well-documented images of this type that we have ever come across.
Claude Worley was a 14-year-old boy, sent to live in Buford, Ga. by his father, William Jasper Worley,
a retired captain in the Confederate army and later owner of the Buford Gazette newspaper. Young Claude was given the
responsibility of helping to run the paper for his father, but while running out to meet the mail train one day,
Claude was struck and killed by the train. Claude's mother, Victoria, never recovered from the death of her son.
She wore black every day for the rest of her life and could be seen sitting by his gravesite for hours at a time,
absorbed in her grief. The Worley homestead, nestled in the beautiful mountains of north Georgia in Dahlonega,
was bought and fully restored to its former beauty by owner Phyllis Mauldin. A Cobb County native, Mauldin and her
husband saw the old house and fell in love with it.
"Right then and there, I decided I had to have it," Mauldin said. "I thought it would make a beautiful bed and breakfast."
Because the Worley house was declared as a place of historic significance by the Dahlonega Historical Preservation Committee
(its driveway was once part of the road that Union troops traveled on the way to the Battle of Kennesaw), Mauldin had to
take great care to restore the house to its former state. Almost from the start, Mauldin said, they noticed odd occurrences
in the home, but they chalked them up to quirky coincidences. "We thought they just added to the charm of the place," Mauldin said.
For example, she said, when there was any discord in the house from the stresses of the renovation or a family squabble,
the front door would open by itself - even if it had been locked. Unexplained gusts of wind would blow in some of the rooms,
rearranging papers and tipping over lamps. One of the bathroom windows opens by itself, much to the dismay of the cleaning woman charged
with securing the unoccupied rooms.
"The odd thing is that we were allowed to install storm windows as long as we kept the original windows in place. The old window raised by itself,
while the storm window would stay put," Mauldin said. Paranormal experts whom the Mauldins consulted about the house's quirks explained that the
restoration and changes in the old Worley homestead had perhaps stirred up latent memories stored within the house. The strange occurrences
in the Worley Bed and Breakfast, as the house is now known, still occur. Guests are invited to write down and leave their experiences in a book kept
at the Worley. "One guest, who stays with us a few times every year, writes of a calming presence in the downstairs room she and her husband stay in,"
Mauldin said. "She says she has even seen a Confederate soldier standing by the washstand, but she never felt threatened."
Historic Buford is teeming with whispers and tales of strange occurrences in the old buildings along Main Street.
Some experts explain the unusual activity in Buford by noting that there are springs under the city and say ghosts are drawn to moving water.
Others, including many shop owners in the city, dismiss the tales as exegerrated and over-dramatized. Wonder what Claude would have to say?
HAUNTED PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL
After many years of interest in the paranormal field, I finally have something to share with other researchers. On the night of June the 5th 2005,
a couple of friends and I went out to an old abandoned psychiatric hospital in a town called Whitby Ontario, approximately a half hour east of Toronto.
This hospital has been closed for close to 3 decades and has been a popular spot for ghost hunting and teenagers seeking a thrill and a place to scare
their friends.
The area contains a couple of large hospital buildings, a powerhouse, and 16 cabin type buildings which were used as homes for the patients to give it a
more friendly atmosphere. At night however, the friendliness is lost and the place becomes downright creepy. On this night we were exploring many of the
buildings but this picture come from cabin #12. There were no smokers present and the camera was working properly. When the picture was snapped there was
a very putrid smell that overcame all of us and was not present 10 minutes earlier when we had entered the cabin. In the picture there is some
visible mist/ectoplasm.
What makes the picture even weirder is that in the window you can see
a light on in a building across the way. This is absolutely impossible as there hasn't been power running through the
hospital buildings in over 25 years. I tried to logically figure this one out but there is no plausible explanation for it.
We thoroughly explored the area for a good 5 hours and did not come across one lit room in any of the buildings. -- Kevin Copping (theeredeyejedi@hotmail.com)
DAYTIME APPARITION
This picture has been in my possession for awhile. It’s a scan of the original. (My mother originally took this one).
It is of an old barn on the family property, with a dog sitting under a tree, in early spring. I want to draw your
attention to what is just beyond the dog. My mother had many experiences in that house growing up. The property was at 104 Great
Hill Road in Seymour, CT.
She took the original at least 15 - 20 years back, with an old Kodak using 110 film, so it's not a modern digital, but
an old-fashioned print from a negative. As you see the original was damaged ...
somebody put their coffee cup on it, making a ring by the tree, which is why I scanned it in the first place, to preserve a copy.
We threw away a lot of old photos recently, I wish we had looked at them a little more carefully. She still has the original
copy to this print, I think.
That barn isn’t there anymore, and the field in the back is all houses now. The place was creepy, I had one experience
myself there. Heard someone walking down the attic stairs one night when I used to sleep over there as a kid, when everyone
else was together in another room. Never slept there again.
People always thought this looked like an Indian elder of some kind, man or woman we can’t make out, sitting on the ground,
perhaps with long grey hair or a headdress of some kind. I never thought you could catch spirits like this in the daytime!
And our cousin’s dog seems to be aware of it, or at least looking in its direction – aren’t Native Americans supposed to
have some kind of link to animals? Or aren't animals supposed to be more sensitive to spirits than people are?
Another possibility is that my mother was always reminded of this reclusive old lady that used to live in a house across the street.
Her name was Marge Weed, and hunting for old bottles I actually went through her old place, and found a deed to .75 acres of land.
Long lost now. People said she hid money out in that field in old canning jars, but no one ever found anything though. There was
also an old foundation in the field of an even older building, or used to be before it got developed. My mother actually brought
this one to a show with the Warrens back in the mid-90's I think, and they wanted it for their slideshow. I don’t remember if she ever
let them use it. Just thought it was an interesting photo. - H., Seymour, Ct.
EVERGREEN CEMETERY FACE IN GETTYSBURG
Mark D. writes, "In November 2006, my wife & I had gone to Gettysburg for the day,
and at around 6:30 in the evening I walked into Evergreen Cemetery across from the war museum,
and as my wife waited outside, I took pictures of various cannons, etc. When I came to a small building
with a stained-glass cross, I thought it would make a great picture. After I got home I started
to view the pictures on the LCD screen of my digital camera, and to my surprise I saw a ghostly shadow.
The shadow wasn't there when I snapped the photo. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up,
as I lightened and zoomed in on the photo and clearly saw a face looking back and a body (photo 2).
I can’t wait to go back there. The building has someone's name on it, I will definitely try and find out who it
is next time. I never really believed in ghosts before this, but now I truly wonder.
MOVING ORB CAUGHT ON VIDEO
This video clip was taken from a camcorder (with night vision) I set up in my basement.
It was taken in the fall of 2006. We’ve heard voices and strange noises coming from down
there in the past, but never before managed to catch anything on tape or video.
Can anyone tell me what it is? It looks like classic orb activity to me, due to
its motion and speed. It is also not reflected dust since no flash or outside light source
was used due to the night vision, and seems to be giving off its own light source. -- Steve W.
Please note that Cleveland Supernatural Investigations (CSI) takes no stand on the authenticity of these images nor do we
